45 houses in Chitwan deluged

CHITWAN: Floodwaters from a swollen Riu stream crossed its banks and entered a human settlement in Madi in Chitwan, deluging around 45 houses.

Resource Person at the District Disaster Management Committee, Balaram Luitel, said that the water level in the rivulet has crossed the danger level of 3.8 metres.

The water level measuring 3.4 metres is considered an alarming sign. 

He said that a team has been sent to the affected area for rescue operation.
