Rajbiraj, February 28:

Fire in Saptari district’s Bathnaha VDC-9 destroyed 46 houses of 19 families today afternoon. The fire had spread from Sahadev Majhi’s house and engulfed other houses in the area.

Sahadev’s two houses, Nathu Laugi’s six houses, Shanker Laugi’s six houses, Chhotekain Majhi’s six houses, Ram Kumar Majhi’s three houses and Ramdev Majhi’s three houses were gutted, Rajbiraj municipality fire brigade said.

The preliminary report has put the damage at Rs 10 million. The fire was doused with the cooperation of Rajbiraj municipality’s fire brigade, police and locals.
