KATHMANDU, JANUARY 3
An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Taplejung district early Saturday morning, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Lainchaur.
The tremor occurred at 6:13 am, with its epicentre located near Falaincha in Taplejung. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Nepal, which lies in a seismically active Himalayan zone, frequently experiences earthquakes of varying magnitudes.
Earlier, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Thoche in Manang district on December 14.
