BAJURA: Police today paraded a 47-year-old man on the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl of Budiganga Municipality-12 in Bajura district.

According to District Police Office Bajura, Dal Bahadur Thapa of Nuwakot in Budiganga Municipality-8 was held on rape charges yesterday. Thapa has confessed to his crime, police said.

During a press meet, police said, Thapa committed a heinous crime when the minor had gone to a nearby cowshed to feed her cattle on the afternoon of December 13.

The District Police Chief Uddhav Singh Bhatt said, both the victim and suspect have undergone medical examinations in the district. It has been learnt that the victim is in normal condition.

Meanwhile, the suspect's blood sample has been sent to the National Forensic Science Laboratory in Kathmandu for further investigation, police said.
