KATHMANDU: Five persons were injured, one of them critically, in an ambulance accident at Jingadia Chok, Garuda Municipality in Rautahat district on Thursday.

The incident occurred when the ambulance (Na 3 Cha 6516) tried to overtake a motorcycle, but lost its control and turned turtle at around 8:45 pm yesterday.

The ambulance was heading towards Birgunj from Gaur when the incident took place.

Police said that the ambulance driver, who was critically injured in the incident, has been sent to the Chitwan Medical College while others are being treated at the Anamika Hospital in Garuda.
