NUWAKOT: At least six people died and five other sustained critical injuries after landslides buried houses in Siran Tole of Gorsyang-2 and Jharlang of Samari-7 on Friday.

Som Bahadur Tamang (36) and his wife Kanchhi Maya Tamang (35) of Siran Tole, Gorsyang-2 lost their lives after the landslide buried their house  this morning.

Police said that Tsering Tamang (15), Ashok Tamang (13), Manmaya Tamang (12) and Sanju Maya Tamang (8), sons and daughters of Tamang couple were injured in the incident.

Similarly, Tek Bahadur Thapa Magar (80) died after the landslide buried his house in Jharlang of Samari-7 today.

Police informed that houses of Som Bahadur Tamang, Lal Bahadur Tamang and Ram Bahadur Kumai were partially damaged by the landslide.

Police with the help of locals are carrying out rescue operation.
