5 Nepalis killed in Uttar Pradesh bus-truck collision

KATHMANDU: At least five Nepalis were killed in a bus-truck collision in Uttar Pradesh of India on Monday.

According to DSP Tek Prasad Rai of the District Police Office, Banke, the incident occurred when the bus (Na 4 Kha 7687) heading towards Delhi from Butwal via Nepalgunj collided head-on with the truck at Risiya in Baharaich of Uttar Pradesh yesterday night.

Preparations are underway to bring the bodies to Nepal, he added.

Police said that 28 persons were injured in the incident.

A police team under the command of Inspector Pramod Kumar Chhetri has been sent to the incident site to inquire about the accident, DSP Rai informed.
