MORANG: Many houses have been deluged and more than 50 families displaced when a flood breached the embankment by the Bakraha River at Dharambhakari of Itahara-3 in Morang on Wednesday morning.

Wards 3, 4 and 5 of Itahara VDC and some wards of Govindapur VDC have been inundated due to the flood triggered by incessant rain since Wednesday morning, said Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Sitaram Bhandari.

Although a team of police and Armed Police Force has been mobilised, there were difficulties in the rescue efforts due to rain and the flooded river, said Inspector Hem Kumar Khadka.
