Over 61 houses inundated in Morang

MORANG: Over 61 houses have been inundated after the flooded Bakraha River gushed into the human settlement at Betini in Madhumalla-5 of Morang district.

Flood water from the river swept away an embankment at Betini this morning and entered into the village, local journalist Santosh Gautam said.

However, no human casualties have been reported yet, Sub Inspector Yadu Kumar Khadka of the Area Police Office Madhumallah said.

It is the third time that the river has entered into the village this monsoon.

In the recent flood-related incident last month, as many as 50 families were displaced from Upper Kaseni of Madhumallah-5, Dhappar Tole and Beteni.
