KAPILVASTU: The District Court, Kapilvastu, has cleared 70.16 per cent cases in the fiscal year 2071/72 BS.

Of the registered 2,108 cases in the district court, a total of 1,479 cases were cleared, according to the court officials. Altogether 1,433 new cases were registered in the last fiscal year alone while other cases were of the previous years.

The district court had also cleared the cases of the same proportion in the previous fiscal year.

Registrar of the district court, Ishwari Bhandari, said that the serious cases and old ones would be kept in priority from this fiscal year.

Bhandari added the cases relating to rape, human trafficking, drug smuggling and other crimes were cleared in due timeframe after regular hearings.
