75 gas cylinders confiscated from Siraha
SIRAHA: Police in Siraha seized 75 cylinders of cooking gas from a truck that met with an accident in Bandipur of the district along the East-West Highway this morning.
The filled cylinders were reportedly being transported to the Capital to sell them in the black market.
The truck (Na 2 Kha 6931) bound for Kathmandu from Biratnagar was found to be carrying the LPG cylinders after it overturned.
Confiscated cylinders of Manoj Gas Industry might have been refilled in India and being taken to the Capital to sell at a higher price, Siraha District Police Office's Superintendent of Police Shyam Gywali said.
Black marketing of LPG is rife in the country due to the prolonged obstructions at the Indo-Nepal border and ongoing Madhes agitation.
