PALPA: At least eight people died in two road mishaps in Palpa and Nawalparasi on Wednesday. Six persons were killed and 37 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Chidipani VDC-9 of Palpa in the afternoon. According to the police, the deceased are Narayan Magar (11) of Bhairahawa, Tribhuwan Thapa and Dev BK of Palpa. Identities of other deceased could not be established. Of the injured, 31 are undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital in Palpa while others are being treated at Lumbini Medical College. Condition of six of the injured is reported to be critical. Meanwhile, two persons — Buddhilal Puri, 45, and Sutala Chaudhari, 32, — of Nawalparasi died and nine others sustained injuries when a micro bus met with an accident at Chisapani of Bardaghat along the East-West Highway. —HNS
