ILAM: At least eight persons were injured when a truck met with an accident at Kolbung-2 of Ilam district on Monday.

According to police, the truck (Ko 3 Pa 6060) was on its way to load timber from Pashupatinagar of Ilam when it lost control and fell some 100 metres down the road.

The injured have been identified as Rajesh Rai (33) of Kankai Municipality-2, Binod Tamang (26), Suman Paudel (26), Dipak Rai (42) and Prabin Paudel (21) of Kankai Municipality-8, Rajeeb BK (17) of Dhaijan-6, Bibek Subba (21) of Dhaijan-4 and Sabin Dhimal (24) of Budhabare-4 in Jhapa.

Among them, Sabin Dhimal and Dipak Rai are critical, informed Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar Yadav of the Ilam District Police Office.

They have been taken to the B&C Hospital in Birtamod of Jhapa for further treatment, Yadav informed.
