8 killed in Doti jeep accident
DHANGADHI: As many as eight people died and seven others were injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Jijodamandu-8 of Doti district on Tuesday.
According to the District Police Office, Doti, the deceased have been identified as Dr Jayraj Panta (62), Gudi Panta (55), Sabitra Panta (52) of Jijodamandu-8, Doti, Dr Ganesh Panta (61), Keshab Raj Panta (59), Harina Tamata (36), jeep driver Chetram Balayar of Banlek-1 and Janaki Tamrakar (17).
Navrata Panta (45), Gaurav Panta (30), Laxmi Nepali (9), Dhan Mabadur Tamata (38), Kalawati Tamata (38), Anita Tamata (22) and Dhauli Tamata were injured in the incident.
Though all the injured were rushed to the Dadeldura Hospital, some critically injured have been taken to Dhangadhi for further treatment.
The incident occurred when the jeep (Na 1 Ja 3294) heading towards Jijodamandu from Bangdungrisain veered off the road and fell some 500 metres down at around 9 pm.
