800 houses to be built for poor families
Rajbiraj, October 13
The government is set to construct 800 concrete houses for Dalits and extremely poor families in various municipalities and rural municipalities in Saptari.
The houses will be constructed under People’s Residence Programme within the fiscal year 2018/19. A meeting held among lawmakers from the district, party representatives and other stakeholders fixed the number of houses to be built.
According to Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, Rajbiraj, Chief Ramesh Thing, of the total houses, fifty per cent will be built in municipalities and rural municipalities where the project was launched last year and the remaining houses, in new municipalities and rural municipalities of the district.
Earlier, a survey was carried out at the rural municipalities and municipalities where the project was launched. Likewise, study will be conducted in new municipalities and rural municipalities within a month.
Thing said materials to be used to build the houses would be of high quality as more fund had been allocated for the project this year compared to previous years. “We will use quality timbers and other construction materials to build the residences,” Thing added.
