91 fuel tankers enter thru border points

As many as 91 tankers of petroleum products entered Nepal through different border points between yesterday night and today evening.

Of them, 24 tankers carried petrol, 58 diesel, eight LPG, and one tanker carried kerosene.

Of the 91 tankers, 37 entered Nepal from the eastern border point of Kakadbhitta as of today evening.

According to DSP Shyam Adhikari of Kakadbhitta Area Police Office, 34 tankers entered Nepal yesterday night while three more entered on Wednesday evening. Of them, 13 tankers carried petrol, 21 diesel, two LPG and one tanker carried kerosene, according to Layan Prasad Bhandari, chairman of Mechi Petroleum Association, Jhapa.

Information officer at Mechi Customs Office Dipendra Jha said as many as 79 containers carrying various goods also entered Nepal today.

Likewise, 47 tankers, including 11 carrying petrol, 32 diesel and four LPG bullets entered from Jogbani border point of Biratnagar today. According to Rani Customs Office in Biratnagar, more than 200 containers and some other trucks carrying goods as well as raw materials have also entered Nepal.

As many as five diesel tankers and two LPG bullets entered Nepal from the border point of Rupaidiya, Nepalgunj today.

Not a single vehicle entered from Belhiya of Bhairahawa and Raxaul of Birgunj due to the obstruction of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front.

The border point at Belhiya was shut due to a clash between UDMF cadres and police personnel.
