KHOTANG:  An elderly citizen died on the spot after he met with an accident at  Saunechaur VDC in Khotang on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified  as Nil Bahadur Magar, 60, of the VDC. Police said the tractor, which was  heading towards Dahaplang from Chisapani, fell some 35 metres below the  road and crushed Magar while he was travelling in the same tractor.

Inspector Kashinath Regmi of District Police Office, Khotang said that  Naranath Poudel, 42, of the VDC was injured in the accident and has been  receiving treatment at the local health facility.

The tractor driver  has fled the scene and police are searching for him.
