District Court Nawalpur has sent Bimal Shreepali of Danda, Kawasoti-16, to judicial custody in connection with acid attack on a girl. Following the court order, he was sent to Bharatpur prison yesterday.

Shreepali has been accused of hurling acid on Basanti Pariyar before stabbing her in the village on September 24.  Following the incident, police had arrested him and registered a case at the district court.

“The court issued the order as demanded by the district attorney,” said DSP Lilaraj Lamichhane of District Police Office, Nawalpur.

The victim of acid attack is undergoing treatment at Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan University  Teaching Hospital. The girl who suffered burn injuries to different parts of her body  is set to undergo plastic surgery, said police.
