Action sought against CDO
Sankhuwasabha, April 20:
The CPN (Maoist)-affiliated Nepal Rastriya Karmachari Sangathan has demanded action against Chief District Officer of Sankhuwasabha Mukunda Adhikari for seeking the imprisonment of employee of Sankhuwasabha district development committee and driver Govinda Baniya for no fault of the latter.
A 15-day jail term was sought for Baniya after he allegedly failed to take the chief district officer and his wife to the Tumlingtar airport from where they were to catch a flight to Biratnagar yesterday, the release said. It accused Adhikari of verbally abusing driver Baniya in public. The CDO should be punished because he frequently abuses his subordinates, the release said, threatening to stage an agitation if the CDO were not punished. The release was signed by district president of the Sangathan Bhupendra Katuwal.
CDO Adhikari arrived in Biratnagar with his wife yesterday.
