Family members of the martyrs of Gaur massacre staged sit-in for the fifth consecutive day today in Rautahat's Chandrapur, demanding action against the guilty.
The victim's families submitted a memorandum to the chief district officer on July 17 seeking action against the perpetrators of the massacre. While they organised interactions in all 18 local levels of the district, they started a sit-in five days ago under the leadership of Gaur Massacre Victim Struggle Committee coordinator and member of a victim's family Rup Sagar Devi.
Aam Janata Party has expressed its support and solidarity to the protest. Though AJP Chairperson Prabhu Sah hasn't been present, its senior vice-chairperson and former minister Badri Neupane, General Secretary Upendra Sah and other district- and central-level leaders have been showing their participation in the protest.
Twenty-seven CPN-MC cadres were brutally murdered by the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum during a clash between them in Rautahat district headquarters in March seven years ago.
