Action taken against teachers, students for violating SLC rules

Action was taken against invigilators, SLC examinees and others for violating the rules of examination in examination centres, reports said.
While invigilator Nathuni Yadav was expelled from the Sideshwor Sanskrit Secondary School for his role in supplying chits to the examinees, Sanjaya Saraf, a fake student, was handed over to the police. According to a report from Phidim, the police today arrested 70 persons, including teachers and campus students, on the charge of passing chits to SLC students taking exams at the Panchthar Multiple Campus.
Meanwhile, mathematics teacher of the Siddhidevi Secondary School, Nawamidada Janardan Khanal, was freed after interrogation, said a staffer of the District Education Office. He had been detained for being involved in passing chits to students.
Thirteen SLC examinees in Phidim have been suffering from dysentery, a report, quoting the superintendents of different examination centres, said.
Similarly, owing to unavailability of accommodation, examinees in Gaighat have been compelled to sleep in the examination hall ever since the exams started.
Three invigilators and one examinee were expelled from the SLC examination centres in Tikuliya secondary school and Maharshi higher-secondary school in Gaur, Mukunda Prasad Dhakal, district education officer (DEO) and chairman of the SLC examination Coordination Committee, said.
