KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 29

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 794,163 on Wednesday with 892 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 764,847 with 1,113 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,123 with eight more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 18,193 against 18,422 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 14,541 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,652 were PCR tests while 3,889 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,196,827 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 265 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,157.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 244 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 265 cases in the country while Morang is second in line with 78 cases and Jhapa third with 76 cases today.

So far, a total of 13,452,743 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 7,214,742 have received the first dose while only 6,238,001 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 233 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 210 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
