Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 767,271 on Friday with 1,357 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 723,456 with 2,274 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,809 with 23 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,334 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,773 were PCR tests while 4,561 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,946,189 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 399 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,756.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.3%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 33,006.

So far, a total of 10,268,166 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 5,472,793 have received the first dose while only 4,795,373 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 274 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 467 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 129 and 71 cases respectively.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 765,914 with 1,619 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 220 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 196 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
