KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 788,769 on Thursday with 941 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 756,954 with 1,324 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,072 with 13 more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 20,743 against 21,139 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 15,243 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,629 were PCR tests while 3,614 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,136,208 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 298 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,239.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 246 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 245 cases in the country. Lalitpur is second in line with 107 cases while Jhapa has 86 cases today.

So far, a total of 12,154,018 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 6,293,089 have received the first dose while only 5,860,929 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 230 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 207 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
