8,663 people infected with Covid-19 recover while 4,624 get infected in 24 hours

Nepal on Friday reported 4,624 new cases of the coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the Covid-19 caseload has reached 581,560.
The nationwide death-toll has reached 7,731 with 101 Covid-related fatalities reported today.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate climbed to 81.9% on Friday, as opposed to 81% on Thursday and the total number of recoveries in the country as of today is 476,130.
As many as 8663 people who had earlier contracted the disease recovered in the past 24 hours, reducing the the active Covid-19 case count to 97,699.
Meanwhile, antigen tests confirmed 2,029 positive cases in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 6,653.
In the same time frame, 897 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 299 and 188 cases respectively.
There are 755 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
According to the health ministry, 20,813 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 14,182 were PCR tests while 6,631 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,121,120 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 576,936 with 5, 825 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 172 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 155 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
