Nepal on Thursday reported 5,825 new cases of the coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the Covid-19 caseload has reached 576,936.
The nationwide death-toll has reached 7,630 with 75 Covid-related fatalities reported today.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate climbed to 81% on Thursday, as opposed to 80.8 % on Wednesday and the total number of recoveries in the country as of today is 467,467.
As many as 5,904 people who had earlier contracted the disease recovered in the past 24 hours. With fresh recoveries slightly more than the new infections of late, the active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 101,839.
Meanwhile, antigen tests confirmed 1000 positive cases in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 6,825.
In the same time frame, 1,630 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 298 and 129 cases respectively.
There are 831 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
According to the health ministry, 21,773 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 18,562 were PCR tests while 3,211 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,106,938 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 571,111 with 4,524 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 171 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 154 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
