The active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal dropped further on Sunday as 6,636 more recoveries were reported against 3024 new infections.
As per the latest data provided the government, the countrywide total infection count has reached 588,124.
The Covid-19 death toll is inching closer to the 8k mark, standing at 7,898 with 99 more fatalities reported today.
So far, a total of 2,804,574 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,113,080 have received the first dose while only 691,494 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate climbed to 83.5 % on Sunday, as opposed to 82.8 % on Saturday and the total number of recoveries in the country as of today is 491,009.
As many as 6,636 people who had earlier contracted the disease recovered in the past 24 hours, reducing the the active Covid-19 case count to 89,217.
Meanwhile, antigen tests have confirmed 455 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests add up to 3,479.
In the same time frame, 731 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 254 and 146 cases respectively.
There are 731 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
According to the health ministry, 13,733 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 10,471 were PCR tests while 3,262 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,143,062 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 585,100 with 3,540 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 173 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 156 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
