Addressing PLA’s concerns must: Poudel

Rupandehi, November 22:

Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel today said there would be no guarantee of peace in the country until the management of People’s Liberation Army combatants.

Speaking at a press meet organised here today, Poudel said, “The Maoists are trying to integrate their combatants with the Nepal Army going against the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. The PLA fighters should be integrated, with army, police, industrial security and border security forces on the basis of their professional qualifications and skills, and rehabilitated as per the CPA,” he said.

Saying tat the Maoists were yet to return the seized land and property to the rightful owners, Poudel termed the act as a gross violation of the comprehensive peace accord.

“The Maoists are ignoring the peace accord and people’s mandate and are making statements

of searching new alternative for democracy,” Poudel accused.
