‘13 Nepalis in Iraq safe’

KATHMANDU: Thirteen Nepali nationals, who had gone to strife-torn Iraq to earn a better living, have been kept in captivity for the last one week. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), all of them are safe and a process has begun to bring them back home. Pradhyumna Bikram Shah, joint secretary, MoFA, said that he spoke to Dipak Bhattarai, one of the captives, with the help of diplomatic missions in Pakistan, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Indra Prasad Bhattarai, Dilip Kumar Sunuwar, Tekraj Rai, Laxmi Yonjan, Laxman Thakur, Prem Prasad Koirala, Jaya Kumar Rai, Prem Giri, Lok Chand Chaulagain, Tilak Bahadur Thapa, Yogendra Sunuwar and Raj Kumar Gurung are the

other captives. They are in confinement

because the manpower agent failed to find jobs for them in Iraq.
