‘Autocratic’ govt in line of Sushil’s fire
Bardiya, October 2:
Acting president of the Nepali Congress Shushil Koirala today accused the Maoist-led government of heading towards autocracy.
He made this remark while addressing a programme organised by the Bardiya unit of the Nepali Congress in Gulariya to exchange greetings on the occasion of Dashain.
Koirala also warned of launching an agitation against the Maoists’ autocratic rule.
Expressing anger at the Maoists’ act not returning seized property to the rightful owners, he said, “The Maoist are committing corruption by seizing the private property.”
Koirala also accused the Maoist cadres of not following the direction of its leader Puspa Kamal Dahal to return the seized property.
Accusing the Maoist-led government of giving priority to the People’s Liberation Army and forgetting developmental of the country, Koirala said the peace process was shadowed.
He also said the People’s Liberation Army personnel residing in the camps should be mobilised for industrial security.
Koirala also accused the United Nations Mission In Nepal (UNMIN) of supporting the Maoists.
“If the UNMIN works only in Maoists’ interest, it would lose its credibility,” he said.
On the occasion, Nepali Congress Bardiya president Arun Singh Rathaur warned of agitation if the Maoists did not return the seized property by Tihar.
