Kathmandu, April 7:

The Ganeshman Singh Academy (GSA), today urged the people to safeguard the achievement of the 1990 Peoples’ Movement.

On April 8, 1990, multi-party democracy was restored after the People’s Movement took place under leadership of Ganeshman Singh. “It is the duty of the political parties to maintain the significance and glory of democracy, achieved through the People’s Movement of 1990.

It is the responsibility of the people to do their duty according to the ideology of the People’s Movement,” a GSA release issued here today said. It added that only democracy could be the basis of the security of people’s rights and national development. “On April 7, the Nepalis got democratic freedom and they are dedicated to safeguard this freedom,” it said, adding that it believed that all political parties, youth, students, civil society members, women and intellectuals are capable of maintaining freedom as ever.
