Kathmandu, January 17:
The Armed Police Force today refuted newspaper reports that said the acting DSP Gam Bahadur Gurung was shot dead by his junior officer in Bhaluwang yesterday. The AFP has clarified that Gurung was instead killed in ‘a sudden firing.’ In a press release, the AFP has stated Gurung, who was assigned duty at Bhaluwang, was killed in a sudden fire while walking on an open ground nearby his office.
The AFP has however not clarified where the firing came from. It has not rejected the possibility of a friendly fire that might have killed Gurung. The head constable, whom the media had reported to be out of contact after the incident, is under control and the AFP is investigating into the incident, the statement said.
