KATHMANDU, JUNE 9
A team of veteran American and Nepali mountaineers climbed Mt Denali in Alaska to mark the 75 years of diplomatic relationship between Nepal and the USA.
According to Thaneswar Guragai, project manager, US - Nepal Friendship Team stood on the top of Mt. Denali and hoisted the US Nepal diplomatic relation diamond jubilee's flag this morning 5.30 Am Nepal Time (15:15 Alaska Time Zone - 8 June 2022).
Mark Parallel, leader of the team reported that all team members successfully scaled the highest mountain peak in North America, which stands at an elevation of 6190m above sea level.
The expedition team to climb Mt. Denali in Alaska consists of American and Nepali mountaineers to mark the 75 years of diplomatic relationship between Nepal and the USA.
Earlier on 31 March, Public Affairs Chief at US Embassy in Nepal Garrett E. Wilkerson handed over the diamond jubilee's flag to the team in Kathmandu and on 14 May the flag was raised to the top of the Mt. Everest by Pasang Phurba Sherpa of Seven Summit Treks.

This expedition is also organized for a cause and spread an important message that hits home, be it in the USA or anywhere in the world: "Climb Against Cancer".
