Siraha, January 13:

Agitating students today halted traffic and torched a vehicle at Golbazaar on Mahendra Highway in Siraha.

They have been demanding compensation for the students injured in a clash with members of school management committee and dissident guardians of Rajai Janak Secondary School in Belhi VDC of Siraha district six days ago. Their other demands include action those involved in the clash, local police chief, Chief District Officer and District Education Officer.

As many as 25 agitators torched a truck heading to Kathmandu from Birtamod in Jhapa district at Golbazaar. Though the police made attempts to resume the traffic, very few vehicles plied on the road.
