Aid for victims

KASKI: The Kaski branch of the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) and World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) on Tuesday distributed relief to victims of a landslide, which hit Ulleri Nepane village-9 last Friday. Deputy senior officer of the NRCS-Kaski Khemraj Sapkota said Rs 59,560 were distributed to members of 41 affected households. Speaking at the programme, former lawmaker Khagaraj Adhikari called on all to provide assistance to the victims. Deputy Chairman of the NRCS-Kaski Shiva Koirala and community development coordinator of the WVIN Ujjwol Amatya also spoke at the programme presided over by chairman of Dangsing sub-branch of the NRCS Surendra Gurung. Some 21 people lost their lives, nine are missing and dozens of houses were buried in the landslide. — RSS
