KATHMANDU, JANUARY 16

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has vowed to take legal action against those found guilty of illegal dealings in the leasing of the Nepal Bharat Pashupati Maitri Dharamshala guest house at Gaushala, which is being operated by the Batas Group.

During the monitoring and inspection of Dharamshala today, Minister Ale said those involved in illegal work, including construction, would be brought to book.

"I have carried out inspection and monitored the Dharamshala.

A committee formed to probe the alleged irregularities will submit its report tomorrow. Action will be taken against all the wrongdoers as per the law," Minister Ale asserted.

On January 7, the ministry had constituted an investigation committee under the convenorship of Pashupati Area Development Trust Treasurer Narayan Prasad Subedi.

The committee is preparing to submit its report tomorrow.

Following inspection and monitoring of the facility, Minister Ale told journalists that he was shocked to find the Dharamshala looking like a seven-star hotel.

He had inspected ordinary as well as deluxe rooms in the Dharamshala.

He said he was even more surprised to find materials being used for construction of bathtub and gym hall.
