KATHMANDU, JUNE 04

The Ministry of Health and Population has directed all the hospitals and health centres across the country to allocate 20 per cent of their beds for treatment of children infected with coronavirus.

Issuing a circular today, the health ministry has requested the hospitals to make 20 per cent of their beds ready for the treatment of children.

It has said that the first and second wave of the respiratory infection have had an impact on the elderly and youth population and the management of the beds have only been targeted for the treatment of these people.

"As there is a risk for the occurrence of third and fourth wave of the infection there are chances for the children to get infected from the virus," the health ministry said.

The health ministry, therefore, has directed the hospitals to make ready 20 per cent of their beds for the treatment of the children and has also requested the hospitals to make an arrangement of oxygen.
