Repair of the alternative road to the capital has started taking into account the heavy pressure of vehicles along the Naubise-Nagdhunga road section, which is the main entry point into the capital.

The Dharke-Dhading-Sitapaila road is being repaired to facilitate people heading towards their hometown to celebrate the Dashain festival. Dhunibensi Municipality Mayor Bal Krishna Acharya said passengers faced many problems due to traffic congestion along the Naubise-Nagdhunga stretch. “Passengers get stuck in traffic jams for hours while crossing the 25 kilometres long road.” Acharya said the Dharke-Sitapaila road would be used as an alternative route.

The alternative road section is 23 kilometres long. Dhunibensi Municipality, Dhading, has taken the consent of stakeholders to minimise traffic congestion in the municipal areas.

Chief District Officer of Dhading Bhagirath Pandey said they were moving ahead in coordination with the stakeholders to provide convenient and fast service to the people.

SP Damber Bahadur BK at District Police Office, Dhading, said heavy trucks and long route vehicles would be stopped in Dharke to minimise traffic jam. SP BK said vehicles were urged to use the alternative road.
