American tourist collapses to death in upper Mustang
POKHARA: An American tourist, who was trekking in upper Mustang, fell unconscious and died, on Sunday night.
DSP Harihar Nath Yogi, Chief of Mustang District Police Office, said Bryan Charles Bramlet (53) had collapsed to death at the toilet of Dhawalagiri Hotel in Ghami of Mustang.
The trekker holding the US passport, numbered 71317143, had just reached the hotel while he fatally fell unconscious, police said.
According to a tourist guide Sudeep Aryal, he had arrived in Mustang for 12 days.
Meanwhile, the Mustang District Police Office wrote to the Ministry of Home Affairs urging for facilitating the process to send the body to the Capital.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Adhikari said the US Embassy in Kathmandu had also already been informed.
Preparations were underway to send the body on a helicopter, it is learned.
