Ample rights to women in Constitution: Sitaula
BIRATNAGAR: Nepali Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said the new Constitution has endowed ample rights to women, and women community itself should be aware to utilise such rights.
Addressing an interaction programme on 'Women's Role in Nepal's Constitution' organised by Nepal Women Association Morang Chapter at Biratnagar, Saturday, General Secretary Sitaula said the new constitution has guaranteed social, economic, political and inclusive rights to all. Women need to aware of this, he underscored.
The implementation of Constitution could encounter challenges in the absence of political stability and national unity, he said, underlining the need of moving ahead keeping these factors intact and to achieve durable peace, good governance, development and economic progress.
According to him, the ongoing blockade suffering the country at the hands of neigbour has caused a heavy loss to the country, but such adverse situation would not go long.
The General Secretary pointed out the need that NC should play a leading role in strengthening the Nepal-India relations.
Association President Shanta Poudel chaired the programme.
