Amresh Singh dares govt to arrest him

Kathmandu, August 18

Nepali Congress CA member Amaresh Kumar Singh, who became controversial after his ‘hate speech’, challenged the government to arrest him.

“If the Home Ministry can, you can jail me. We also have tapes of those who have suppressed people,” Singh said at today’s meeting of the State Affairs Committee. Today’s meeting was called after Home Minister Bamdev Gautam yesterday presented an audio tape of Singh, who spoke against national integrity and incited protesters. Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang had instructed the panel to examine the veracity of the tape and conduct a probe.

Some lawmakers had demanded action against one who tried to create communal riot.

Some members of the panel complained that Chairman Dil Bahadur Gharti was uable to lead the panel effectively.
