KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 29
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced the suspension of ticket sales for the upcoming SAFF Women's Championship final match between Nepal and Bangladesh, scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor.
The decision follows an investigation into overcrowding during the recent semifinal match between Nepal and India on Sunday. According to ANFA, the number of tickets sold for the semifinal exceeded the stadium's seating capacity, leading to overcrowding, with many spectators left standing. This situation posed safety risks for both players and fans, ANFA said.
In a notice issued on Monday, ANFA stated that it has halted ticket sales until further notice to ensure proper crowd management for the final. Mount Everest Sports and Events Pvt. Ltd, ANFA's ticketing partner, is reportedly under investigation for overselling tickets for the semifinal, allegedly breaching their agreement with ANFA. The association has requested that Mount Everest Sports cease all ticket sales for the final match and has urged fans not to purchase tickets from any source until further notice.
ANFA stated that ticket sales for the final will resume only after proper management of the ticket sales are in place, with additional updates to follow in a later notice. The association emphasized it will not be responsible for any issues arising from tickets purchased outside official channels during the suspension.
