Annapurna Circuit witnesses increase in tourist flow

LAMJUNG: The influx of foreign tourists has increased along the Annapurna Trekking Circuit of late.

According to Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Manang office chief Babulal Tiruwa, 2,100 tourists had entered Manang during the period from February 13 to March 27 while adding that around 100 international tourists are entering Manang on a daily basis.

With the increase in the daily flow of tourists, Manang tourism entrepreneurs are enthusiastic over the start of the tourist season, said local entrepreneur Binod Gurung.

The ease in transportation in the current years has increased the number of domestic and international tourists visiting the trekking route from district headquarters Chame to Pisang, Upper Manang, Base-camp, Tilicho, and Thorang-La Bhanjyang.

Tourists from all over the world visit the circuit that encompasses Mustang, Manang, Myagdi, Kaski and Lamjung.

The trekking circuit that used to take 14 days for a round trip has decreased to 10 days owing to the expansion of various roads.
