ANNISU-R launches drive

Kathmandu, June 3:

Demanding compensation for the children of people who were killed by the state during the armed conflict, the CPN (Maoist)-aligned ANNISU-R launched a weeklong campaign — Let Us Live and Study — today.

“The nation’s fund has been generously spent on children of security personnel killed in the conflict, but the government is mum on compensating the children whose parents were killed by security men,” Lekhnath Neupane, president of the ANNISU-R, said at a press meet held to announce the launch of the campaign.

“The nation witnessed this political change because some 13,000 brave sons and daughters of Nepal sacrificed their lives,” he said, urging the government to look after their children.
