Anti-govt forces spreading rumours: Oli

Biratnagar, March 31

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today accused anti-government forces of spreading rumours against the government.

Speaking at a press meet organised in Biratnagar airport, Oli charged that the elements hell-bent on making the government fail were spreading rumours against it. “The country has embarked on the path of development and prosperity. The formulation of rules and laws will be completed within a fortnight and the government will focus on development after that,” he added.

Oli said that Nepal Investment Summit had sent out a positive message to investors. “The investment pledge made by various international organisations, including World Bank, would encourage development in the country,” he stated.

Oli accused the Nepali Congress of seeking some share in the appointment at constitutional bodies. “The Constitutional Council has recommended the name of Dinesh Thapaliya as Chief Commissioner at the Election Commission after consultation with Sher Bahadur Deuba,” Oli said.

He further said the government had banned the Netra Bikram Chand-led party for its violent activities. “We have banned violent activities, not a lawful party.”
