RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 14

Armed Police Force (APF) police personnel ceased and 'destroyed' illegal Indian chicken in Baudhimai Municipality of Rautahat district, on Sunday.

The security personnel have managed to cease 69 chickens, weighing about 180 kilograms that were being illegally imported from India using three Indian plate motorcycles at Narkatiya of the Municipality.

The flouters ran away after seeing the police, abandoning their motorcycles. The combined prices of motorcycle and chicken is estimated to be around 0.2 million rupees.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Surya Sen Oli, "The Indian chicken have been buried, while the motorcycles have been impounded for further investigation."

The Government of Nepal has imposed a ban on the import of Indian poultry over detection of cases of bird flu in the southern neighbor.
