KAVRE: As many as 12 area post offices in Kavre have been operating sans office chiefs. The offices under District Postal Office, Kavre have been running without chiefs after the latter secured transfers to offices outside the district.

District postal officer Padam Bahaduri Khatri said a post-person was compelled to take up all types of responsibilities as a non-gazetted second-class officer due to absence of office chiefs.

There are APOs in Banepa, Khopasi, Panauti, Panchkhal, Dolalghat, Phalate, Gumati, Dapcha, Pokharinarayansthan, Mangaltar and Ghartichhap in the district.

As most of the employees want to serve in urban postal offices, the offices in remote areas are often left without chiefs.
