Lalitpur, December 7:

Local bodies in the district, which had stopped their day-to-day works from Friday, will start their works tomorrow after the owners of stone quarries sought apologies from the officials of District Development Committee, Lalitpur.

The employees of local bodies had halted their works demanding the government to ensure their security after owners of two stones quarries, operating in Chapagaon, vandalised the DDC office on Friday. A five-member delegation of the quarries, which had come to the DDC office for the renewal of the stone quarries, had vandalised the office and had misbehaved with LDO Narayan Gyawali.

He further said that the representatives of different political parties had agreed to control the activities of their sister organisations. “They also agreed to close the two stone quarries being operated in Chapagaon,” Gyawali added.
