Armed outfit plants grenade at Saptari businessman's house
RAJBIRAJ: A grenade was found at the main entrance of the residential building of local businessperson Phusraj Dugad in Rajbiraj, the Saptari district headquarters, in the wee hours of Friday.
Dugad had informed police after he witnessed a black polythene bag at the gate which had an iron piece and some leaflets.
Upon investigation, police had concluded that it was a grenade.
Police also recovered the leaflets issued in the name of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha led by Jayakrishna Goit.
Meanwhile, finding of the explosive had thrown the locals into a panic.
Later, a Nepal Army team defused the grenade at around 10 am today.
Meanwhile, Goit telephoned some journalists of the district and claimed responsibility of planting the explosive.
He said Dugad was targeted after he refused to shut down his business and vehicles during a bandh called by the armed outfit on January 11.
Around three weeks ago, the same front had put a pressure cooker bomb nearby the District Administration Office.
