The Armed Police Force (APF) seized 130kg of marijuana from a forest in Katari Municipality-6 of Udayapur district early Wednesday morning.

According to the APF Security Base in Katari, the marijuana was recovered from the Saudhuri Chure forest at around 2:30am during a motorcycle patrol.

The APF team spotted suspected smugglers carrying marijuana on foot in the forest. The suspects fled, leaving behind the contraband, which had been packed in plastic bags.

Ten APF personnel were conducting the motorcycle patrol at the time. The seized marijuana has been handed over to the Area Police Office in Katari for further investigation.

Police had arrested two people with a large quantity of marijuana in Katari just days earlier, highlighting intensified enforcement against drug smuggling in the district.
